MANET: Literature Review

As stated in the schedule, every student has to read two papers during the 2nd and 3rd week of the course.  Grading is based on the individual performance.  The following sections describe the tasks and the grading system for each week.


Week 2: Literature Review I

Objectives

  • To gain a brief understanding of mobile ad hoc networks.
  • To identify important and well-defined problems that must be solved in mobile ad hoc networks compared to classical wireless network.

Grading
A few questions will be assigned related to the paper.  You will be required to read one paper, prepare the answers and discuss them in the class.  You have to submit your answer sheet on 30.10.2007.  Grade will be determined based on your answers.  Other relevant papers are provided for your references.

Week 3: Literature Review II

According to the course schedule, each student has to determine the topic of interest by week 3.  The list of possible topics can be found in materials section.  However, note that you can also choose your own topic that is not included in the list.

Based on the selected topic, you are required to read at least one related paper and write the summary of that paper
As the chosen topic might be your main focus of your final project, you are encouraged to include the problem statement and propose the approach to solve the problem.
